Wipers no longer turn on, what parts could be bad?

So it rains today, and my '82 S/E decides it doesn't want to have the wipers work anymore, at all, at any setting. They were fine the other day and then nothing today. Dead, done, gone.

It has the intermittent delay wipers. The washer fluid spray hasn't worked in some time though, but the mist control still activated the wiper arms.

From reading other posts, I've seen that it could be a fuse, the wiper motor, a ground from the motor, and even the switch within the turn signal lever stalk.

Wondering in which order I should start to look for the problem, and is there anything else in the list I may have missed?

Thanks

I'm having nearly the same problem, and it just started this morning for me too! The electrical gremlins must like to come out when it's cold...

Out of curiosity, does your blower motor (A/C and heat) also not work?

I can't move them manually, I don't hear anything running. AC/heat blower motor works fine, rear wiper works fine too.

Mine turned out to be a bad electrical ground; the ground strap from the engine block wasn't making good contact with the chassis. Perhaps try to wiggle your ground strap while the engine is running and wipers are on to see if they work?

Just a follow up that the problem was a broken wire to the wiper motor. After it was re-spliced the wipers worked fine.
