Tail lights/Interior lights...
Okay, I tried the search engine, but I'm relatively new here, and I didn't find anything, so if I missed something, I'm sorry.
Also, I'm relatively new to cars in general, so this may or may not be a stupid question:
A while back, I was out driving, and my stereo wouldn't turn on. It's a new CD player, and was very, very poorly installed before I got the car, and was loose in the hole. I wiggled it around some (this had worked before when this was happening...) and all of the lights inside the car, except for the digital instruments, turned off. The lights next to the shifter, that indicate the current gear turned off, the lights on the steering wheel (radio controls) turned off, and the lights to the climate control turned off. I later discovered that my tail lights would not come on.
The car is a 1988 Trans Am GTA with a good many miles... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might have blown a fuse because of the unit being loose and maybe grounded out a wire.Check your fuse box for a blown fuse, should be listed as Crtsy(courtesy lights) or may just be listed on the box as lts(lights). That is where I would start. If that's the case, you need to fix that loose CD unit so it does not reoccur. Badman

Ok, well, that fixed the tail lights. Ironically enough, when those came back, the headlights quit.

Need to check all fuses in fuse box. Also see if any wires going to Cd deck rubbing or chafing on frame or body.Look under dash for same. Badman

Okay... turned out that when I was fiddling around in the fuse box, I knocked one loose. I fixed that... everything works now. Thanks!

Get the wiring on that CD changer fixed. Avoid more problems in the future. Glad to help. Badman
