87Z28 Engine Wont Start

Help! My engine does not start...won't even turn over and none of the lights work...no electrical power to the whole car. The battery is brand new and I just replaced the starter... ran fine for about 5 day then went dead. Any suggestions where to start looking

You didn't happen to buy a dead battery, did you? Sometimes those store boughts can be undercharged. Give it a good charging and make sure your terminals are hooked up tightly. You could also have a bad ground?

Drim'91Z,

I'll try to jump start the car to see if it will start (It's sitting at work), if that doesn't work I'll have to tow it home and check the grounds like you suggest.

Thanks.

I had the problem a couple weeks ago. Turned out the switch for the hatch release was draining to battery. Unhooked the switch and the battery stays charged all the time. Just another suggestion as something may also be draining your battery.
