my blinkers dont work, where do i start

 

Suggestions from the 82 service manual......

If ALL turn lights don't flash....

1. Check TURN B/U FUSE by operating BACK UP LIGHTs (B/U = Back Up)
IF Back Up lights don't work, replace the Turn B/U Fuse

2. Check TURN FLASHER, TURN-HAZARD SWITCH ASSEMBLY, and related wiring. {Turn Flasher is mounted ABOVE the convience center. The convience center is on rith side of drives's dash, just left of the console. The ALDL is mounted to the bottom of the Convience Center. I think you will have to remove the convience center to get to the Turn Flasher. You can pick up a new flasher at any auto parts store, in the electrical section.
Hazard switch is mounted on the steering column, right side.}

If only one turn light doesn't flash, check that its ground is clean and tight.

First off i apoligize for posting a really BAD question. No details, just a dumb question.
Second thanks for the great responses. I haven't had time to work on the car, but I will get back to ya when I do.

Replace the Flasher unit under the dash. 99 44/100% of the time this is the problem.
