91 VSS Signal wire? Purple or Yellow?
I'm hooking up my HAL Autometer speedo sender and what I believe I'm reading in my 91 service manual is the VSS connector has two wires (duh...you can see that by simply looking at it) and the yellow is the pulse wire and purple is a ground. Is that correct? My Autometer is a 3 wire, clear for signal, black for ground and red for 12V power. Help appreciated. BTW, the VSS connector came with my TKO600 setup.

The VSS puts out an A/C signal, so there isnt really a ground. You can wire it the way you described without a problem.
You can also double-check the websites for Accel and HAL for directions to make sure.

Kevin, thanks all for replying. I actually have the Autometer instructions for the unit and like I described it's simply (for the sensor) red for 12v power, black for ground and clear for VSS signal. I guess my confusion was that the 91 VSS harness has two signal wires if I interpret the service manual correctly, one for VSS high and VSS low....whatever high/low mean. I didn't know which of the two sensor wires my autometer HALL sensor wired into for VSS.
