does anyone know if the 82 83 headlight motor housings are the same as 84-up
i dont care about the internal parts or about the 3 wire vs 2 wire
i just want to know if the parts from an 82 83 can put into an 84-up housing

Yes they can. You may or may not be aware that the gears may be different (straight cut vs. helical cut) between the two motors, regardless they will interchange into the other's housing.
