Re: headlights only work on high beams

Since you have replaced the "HI-LOW" beam siwtch, aka "Headlight Dimmer Switch" and only the Hi beam works, have you checked the TAN(?) wire from the "LOW" output of the beam switch to the C100 firewall connector and from the C100 firewall connector to the left headlight for an open circuit? The wire could be broken inside the insulation and could look normal.

My 1982 Service Manual wiring diagrams show a Yellow wire from the light switch to the Headlight Dimmer Switch; a Green wire from the Headlight Dimmer Switch High Connection to connector C100, terminal A2 for the high beam; and a Tan wire from the Headlight Dimmer Switch LO connection to connector C100, terminal F1 for the Lo beam.

Connector C100 should be located on the driver's side firewall up benind the dash. You can see it in the engine compartment just to the right (when standing at the front of the car facing the rear) of the brake vacuum booster.

Connector C100 has two plugs in it, one for the Front Light harness and the other for the Engine harness. In both plugs, the rows are lableled A - G and the columns are lableled 1 - 8. The Front Light plug only has two columns for rows A - B and F- G, rows C- E have three columns. The engine harness plung has Rows A - F and columns 1 - 8.
