Electrical Issues
Ok here goes. Having some issues in my 85 camaro.
Just installed a new MSD Cap, rotor and coil on friday. Fired up nicely and ran well.
Saturday afternoon the alt. blows and overcharges my battery, causing it to leak.
Sunday I replace the Alt. and battery (optima red top) and it doesnt look like the system is working. Replaced a second time on monday with a higher amp alternator and its still not charging.
so my question is, could the MSD coil be part of this problem? my car is also revving quite high now, like when you put in the clutch, the rev's actually increase....its not fun. revs cap out around 2500, but when left to idle, will go back to 750...more driving makes rev's climb back to 2000-2500.
I didnt replace spark plugs or wires, and as far as I can tell the alt. is hooked up properly.

Re: Electrical Issues
Ok fixed this one myself.
Had the charging system tested and it turns out the alternator was faulty.
Replaced with a powermaster alternator and all the problems seem to be fixed.
I have no idea why the rpms at idle would be so crazy with the faulty alternator, but since putting in a working alternator, everything is back to normal.
