Hawks ECM...Which one do I buy?
Hey all, through much diagnosis I have found out that I had a bad injector which shorted my ECM, which has unfortunately put me in the market for a new ECM. I saw that both Hawks and TPIParts.com sells ecm's.
Hawks sells a used unit for $50, and TPI parts sells a new unit for $140 and a used for $75. Hawks is cheaper so I would prefer to get the ECM from them, but their listing of ECM serial numbers doesn't match what came out of my car. Apparently the previous owner replaced the ecm once already because I have a remanufactured unit with the following numbers on it printed on the label as follows:
Number: 7-7165
DC Code: 0404GD
On the bottom left of the sticker it has the numbers WMA1003, and on the bottom right it has 91-1088-77.
Which ecm from hawks selection would be correct for my application, a 1989 GTA 5.7?
Here is the hawks web page with the ecm's, the selection is on the dropdown menu.

TPI parts.com lists their $75 ecm as follows:
"Details:
Used ecm with service number 1227165. It was original equipment for MAF TPI setups on 86-89 Camaros and Firebirds. Does not include the prom, you will need the proper prom for your application. All ecms are tested for functionality.
Manufacturer: GM
Fitment: 86-89 305 TPI
87-89 350 TPI"
The 7165 number matches my ECM from this provider, but what about Hawks? And how do I know that this is the correct match?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
