i have a 1985 pontiac firebird trans am that i just recently acquired im in the mist of getting this car back to its former bueaty that it was t tops etc well anyway with my problem , i can manualy get the head lights up via the manual control twist on the actuator / motors well when i turn light switch to on position that is , other wise when i turn lights off they do go down now what i have done so far is replace all 3 relays that are there under the hood 1 for each light and 1 for the headlight regulator , what else is wrong wiring switch please help me thanks a lot

 

im having this problem as well but have only replaced one relay...now i will probably replace the other two...have you been able to resolve the problem ?

 

headlight switch maybe?! other than that trace all wires.

There have been many people that have been having stupid issues with thier headlights, talk to the guy from top-down-solutions, i'm suprised he hasn't hopped in this thread yet, he sells a bushing kit for the headlights, and while it doesn't make much sense it has cured many cases of inoperable headlights. Do a search on firebird headlight problems and you might be able to find him on the site if you don't want to email the website (might be faster as well)
