OK... here's what I have.

Before the headlights worked and dash cluster/radio lights were fine, but the car kept popping the fuseable link from the starter and the car would go dead.

I took out the light and dimmer switch and reseated them.

I noticed 3 or 4 of the connector tabs on the headlight switch looked a little "blue" like something was arcing at one point.

Once I reseated the switches, the link wouldn't pop anymore, but now I don't have any dash/radio lights when the headlights are on.

The dimmer switch still activates the dome light when you spin it all the way up.

The previous owner said he had no dash lights when he got it and changed out something near the bottom of the steering column, but I don't know exactly what, but when he did, he had dash lights but I think it also caused the fuseable link to blow as well.

Anyone have any insight?

Can't help you but that is the exact problem I am having too with my 1990 GTA!
I'd love to fix it...
