How to disconnect the C100 bulkhead connector?

I got the two nuts off and the two covers in the engine bay off but cant get the connectors out.. I think i should put the two nuts back on b/c it doesnt look like the hold the connectors, just the body to the firewall..

Does anyone have any tips on getting it apart? I did a few searches but looks like i am the only one who can't discoonect it

I am also struggling with the other main connector to the engine bay that is just in front of the passenger door.. any tips on that either?

Cheers,
Richard.

Re: How to disconnect the C100 bulkhead connector?

Come on guys, this is the only thing preventing me from removing the entire dash!

Do i need to unscrew the little metal bolt looking thing inbetween the two connectors? what size is it? my 6mm is too small and 7mm too big...

Cheers,
Richard.

I believe I used a 1/4" and a swivel to get at mine. Once the bolt is loose the two harnesses will seperate. The half in the engine compartment is actually two seperate harnesses. The smaller half is your headlight harness.

Thanks, i know it is two connectors, which comes out first and how? Do i need to undo the bolt that is right in the middle? I dont have a 1/4" socket in my set and my 1/4" spanner is mising..

Did you get at it from the outside or inside?

Re: How to disconnect the C100 bulkhead connector?

Hey, i got it!!! I found a realy cheap socket set that i had bought a long time ago and it had a 1/4" socket in it! Just undid that bolt and the whole thing came apart real easy.

I had been prying and pulling at it for hours nearly!

Cheers,
Richard.
