Fusable link or connector?

91 Vert, 5.0 5 speed. Someone bypassed the fan wiring to have a direct switch for the fans. Putting things back, I found a connector with a red and orange wire coming in and a red and orange wire coming out. It is located on the battery side of the motor near the front of the car. Other third gens I have looked at do not have this, rather a relay, which mine doesn't have up front where this "connector" is. On diagrams it refers to a fusable link from the fans going to the relays (dual fans). Do any of you know what this is and where the red and orange wire go? I'm so close to having this thing done and need to get this puzzle solved.
