I bought a LC-1 wideband the other day and I was trying to come up with a good wiring harness for it.
I have heard a lot of comments about defective controllers, mostly assumed to be caused by voltage irregularities during cranking. So I have thought about how to avoid this problem.
I was thinking of adding an extra hidden switch into the cabin for switching 12v to the sensor. I was also thinking of splicing into the ignition 12v source that used to run to the AIR diverter valve, (which through reading wiring diagrams would be on the gauges fuse).
So I'd have the power from the ignition wire going to a switch, and then into the lc-1.


Would that be too much load on the gauges circuit?
What gauge wire should I run from the ignition wire source to the switch inside the car and then back out into the engine bay to the controller?
Should I add an addition inline fuse before the switch?

 

I planned on using an extra inline 5 amp fuse just for protection on the rest of the circuit. The switch I selected is a very basic toggle that is only rated at 6 amps as well. I plan on using 14 guage wire for all of the power supply and joint grounds.

I thought finding a place to put the o2 in the exhaust would be the easy part, but I am still undecided on that.
