Short Circuit Tranny Problems, HELP

Ok for awhile now I have been driving without gauges because I had a massive short. I pulled down the the fuse box and repaired the wire that connects to the GAUGE fuse. Well everytime I put in the fuse, my gauges work fine no problem no fuse blown everything is ok. But then my tranny or the engine stalls at about 10 to 25 MPH. But when I take the GAUGE fuse out it doesn't stall and my car runs smoothly, I then don't have gauges. I have an Auto tranny 91 Camaro RS. I been going crazy, I've checked for faulty cable behind the dash and nothing everything is fine, I don't know where to look please help.

Re: Short Circuit Tranny Problems, HELP

Sounds like your Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid is engaged all the time. Not sure if it picks up power from that circuit - I'm not that familiar with the '91 configuration. But, if you have a TCC system, you will have a switch on your brake pedal that disengages the TCC when you brake. This switch may be bad. Quick test - diconnect the wires going into tranny on driver's side, put your fuse back in & go for a drive. If no stalling at low speed (when coming to a stop) then you have to find why TCC is engaged at low speed.
Is the stalling when you go to stop or does it just quit at the speeds you said above?

Its stall when I stop and when I'm around 10 - 25 MPH, any other time its ok.

If TCC is the prob, you will feel car bucking when slowing to a stop and then stall. Disconnect wires at trans & give it a shot.
