reaching the VATS box

I really would like to get to the VATS box but from the best I can tell it is hidden behind the dash near the firewall out of reach? now for anyone who has removed the box did you just remove the dash pad or does the whole dash have to be unbolted and removed?

I don't need to know how to bypass it though guys (already know), I have other plans and would rather reach the box or wires at the box for my specific install

Re: reaching the VATS box

on a firebird it's located behind the right side hush panels upper trim. it's a panel that is like on the bottom of your dash right below the map pocket. On a camaro though they bury it behind the dash.
