tps readings

tps readings
i measured them while it was on car and hooked up, with a meter .at idle it was 2.27k at wot it was 3.44k are these right? i don't know exactly what this meter measured it it but there was ahorse shoe looking thing after the numbers.

That's Ohms (resistance).
The tps is a potentiometer and has 3 terminals. It should be measured w/o any power applied to the circuit, and w/o the ecm hooked up to make any sense. You'll then get a fixed reading betweeen the outer two terminals. The other two ways of measuring will give varying readings, one goes up at wot, the other goes down. Adding the two readings should give you the fixed value. Doing this in idle and wot gives you a total of five readings that you can use to calculate the voltages the ecm will see.
The specs. calls for measuring voltages.
You can do this by piercing the middle wire with a needle and connecting the meter to this. Be careful not to make a short to ground or you could possibly ruin the tps (only at wot though). Measure the voltage relative to ground, and with the key on. You should get 0.5-0.7V in idle, and approx. 4V at wot, with a smooth transition in between.
