Need help with '91 Firebird Horn Wiring
Ok, so I've installed a remote start/keyless entry/alarm in my '91 Firebird but I'm having issues figuring out where to hook up the horn wire. As you may know, the '91 has an airbag so the horn is two switches behind the airbag assembly with a black wire and red wiring coming off of each. The red wires come together into a plastic connector with a spring on the end and on the end of the spring is a flat brass contact where the two red wires are soldered. The spring/connector goes into a hole in the steering wheel where the flat brass contact makes connection with another flat brass contact and presto, the horn works when you press the buttons.
My question I guess would be, what color is the wire coming off the flat brass contact on the steering wheel side? The wire that goes down into the column.
I did have the wiring coming through the bottom steering column sleeve and coming out where the wheel tilts and then from there going into a gap where the wheel meets the column and finally spliced into the red wiring behind the air bag. Problem with that is after a couple days of turning the steering wheel back and forth, it eventually pulled the wire loose and came out of the steering wheel. So this time, I want to find a place that's actually under the dash to hook up the horn wire. This will work a whole lot better since that's where the remote start control module is mounted and besides that, it looked like crap the other way anyhow.
Any help with this would be much appreciated. TIA!

Nobody knows? Wow, after nearly 7 years and 1500 posts this is definitely a first for me. Somebody has to know. I looked in my Chiltons manual and the body wiring diagram has wiring for every component located on or near the steering wheel EXCEPT the horn. Crazy....
