85tpi troubles
iam really starting to hate the fact that 85 was "one of those years".
here's the problem...
MAF sensor went bad. i looked on tpipart.net and they only have the 86 on up. now i know that in 86 they did a few things like improve the ecm and added a MAF burn off relay, but does that mean that i cant use the 86 MAF at-all??? iam starting to think i need to pull the 85 crap out and put a 86 and later ecm and wiring harness in it....
PS i know that it is the MAF because the top filliment wire is broke.

Re: 85tpi troubles
My '85 ran fine, and yes, it's a bummer that it was a special year, but it's a lot of work to swap everything. To answer your question, no, you can't use a '86-up MAF.
I'd go to car-part.com and get one (I think the MAF there is considered a "Air Flow Meter") or from a local junkyard that might have some '85 Vette/Firebird/Camaros sitting around.
