un used warning light in cluster! on 1990 GTA

anyone else notice on there car mines a 1990 on there cluster a dead warning light that says " low oil level " theres no socket or bulb for it maybe GM decided to wait till next model year to add the oil level indicator its in the guage cluster where the fuel and volts are indicated right below the shift indicator or on automatics bottom right

Re: un used warning light in cluster! on 1990 GTA

i may be wrong about this but usualy its for a differnt engine that has that sensor since gm uses their engines in alot of differnt cars they will vary in the sense of having differnt lights and sensors. maybe some one with a v6 has an operational light. ( hopfully some one can fill us in on this)

dont know if this applies to our vehicles but on my jeep it does it has lights that are only on the 318 but since theres a inline 6 in there it doesnt have the same sensors but the blank spots that i can sorta read ares still in the cluster.
so thats my best guess. lol

Fitbmxseries you have the right idea.My '83 Z28 has the LU5 CFI motor but the cluster has a spot for the choke light for the carb'ed motors.Another idea is the sensor could have stopped working and the light would stay on( I've found many cars with the SES/Check Engine light with no bulb).
