I have done the VATS Bypass mod. I know it's not supposed to be described here from what I've read. I won't go into detail and need to know.

Will bypassing the VATS cause a battery drain? You know, by leaving the "bypass" in? Should I run it through a switch and only switch it on when I'm ready to start the car?

I'm having a battery drain problem and since this is the only thing I've changed if that would cause the ECM to stay powered on and drain the battery.

How much is a new ignition switch? Would it be worth it to change it instead of bypassing it as far and worrying about the battery drain?

 

This is on my 89 IROC, forgot to mention that.
