alt not charging

alt not charging
my 86 camaro is charging at 10v. i start the car and pull the pos cable from the bat and it dies.my alt is new i had it tested and they say it was good and bought a new one and i also got a new bat. and still not charging right. i hope someone has an idea

check the fuseable links . [ large orange wires near battery ] feel them , if you find a soft spot thats your problem . also check all grounds . fuseable links can be repaired or replaced like any regular wire .

I had a faulty ignition switch give me similar symptoms. The alternator wouldn't charge, and no power to accessories like the cooling fan and HVAC blower. After I charged the battery, I had power to start the car and drive, but not for any distance. Just an idea.

I put a test light on the single wire on my alt and no juice and my trans am is hot when the car is off. the wire from the starter is bad. so i jumped my alt to the pos cable. it works........any problems i might have for doing this let me know plz thanx for the help
