oil sending unit leaking at connector

my pump wasnt shutting off ,so i unlugged relay, kept running.jiggled o.s.u wires and it stopped .thought maybe i had bare wires i unplugged it ,and the connector is full of oil. surely there isn't supposed to be oil in there ?it is brand new but that dont mean anything. what caused that and also just buy another one?

An internal leak means it's bad quality if it's brand new. Take it back or maybe better just get a different make from another place.
