Overactive popup headlights?
Hey guys, my firebirds lights keep popping up when I hit the parking lights. They dont light up until I hit the headlight switch as normal and they lower as normal. What gives?

Re: Overactive popup headlights?
sounds like a shorted switch, might be able to clean up your switch but i know you can get replacements through year one.

I figured it out, it was a problem with the motor. I put a motor in it from my old car, and it started working properly. Thanks for the reply tho!

Orinackra,
Please explain a little more as I have the same problem. Also, my pass side rebuilt is not coming up 3/5's of the time. Dangerous for me to drive as police would get me, happened yaers ago before I bought the rebuilts. Thanks! Andy

Re: Overactive popup headlights?
What was happening was when I hit the switch to turn on just the running/fog lights, the headlights would pop up, but not light up. When I hit the headlight switch, the lights would come on. I believe when I hooked the battery up, the motor would spin for about 15 seconds. Once I replaced the motor it started working normally. It was only one side too.

I've had several customers with the symptoms you describe. Their problem went away when they repaired their headlight motors using my headlight repair kits (207280 or 209280). Here's a link customer reviews that mention the kit solving this particular problem:
