Hot Temp Intermittent Miss
For some reason I have developed a miss. I'm thinking it might be the distributer because its pretty old. I really need some advice on what this might be.
I have New Wires, Plugs, and Coil.
Car starts fine, then starts to warm up and developes a miss. I have a 89 TBI 350 - 330hp motor so I don't think its the injectors, but under a rare case might be??? After its been running for a while it developes a Hickup, sometimes the hickup is bad enough to stall the motor. The Hotter it gets the worse it gets.
Since I have a 50000 volt ignition coil I thought I would try the stock coil about 25000 volts but the problem worsened. I'm assuming the distributer because it would be predictive of advance and Pickup Problems (Lenth of Spark Jump, would end up less for less voltage). But... I'm not one to dump money into things that I really don't need. Tomorrow I will be Testing the Resistance and the voltage, but This will be a cold before any problems generally develop. Car is drivable if I keep the RPMs up high enough to stop the Stall, meaning my Left foot has extra Action.
The motor hit about 225 degrees today... I know this is a normal operation temp... but in doing so the car started to smooth out again while Idling. I drove it a ways and the temp dropped to about 205 and the problem started again. This kind of might rule out all of these problems.
Also, if its temperature and Fan Dependant can a faulty Cooling Fan Switch Cause this Issue?
Anyhelp?
