My car hadnt been running quite as good as I thought it should.Ive been running rich,fouling plugs for a while but with no codes.Been stumped.I was driving home the other night and my lights were dim and charge was low.Stopped and had it checked,bad altenator.Get a new one put it on,no better.Took it off to take it back and the black wire looked cut,and had a bunch of corrosion in it.Aparently it had been spliced and for some reason corroded through the butt connecter and shorted out and burned into the other wire it was next to.One red one black wire.The black one was the one that had the problem.I cut all the bad stuff out and rewired it and the lights all seem brighter than they have in quite some time.Car seems to be running better and doesnt smell rich.I havent really been able to drive it because its been raining for two days but it seems to idle better as well.Is it possible this bad wire could have been causing the running condition problems?
