He likes his rear end...... I'll leave that one alone!

I never liked the way, that the turns were only 2 of the 3 bulbs that were there. Didn't make sense anyways.

Before I did the STS, I changed the outer socket to 1157s anyways. Didn't look right, to have the inner 2 flashing, but not the outer 3rd bulb.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

Ok Steven, if you want to do round three, I'd recommend starting a new thread and after you get 10 prepaid orders, we can order parts and start building units.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

19 of 20 units SOLD!!!

Last one pending M.O. in the mail. I'll give it a week, shoulda left today, so a week should be fine. I shipped some STS on a Monday, and got PM'd about arrivals on Wednesday, a couple Thursday, and the last ones by that Friday.

Thanks all!

A round 3 is kinda skeptical, as of this point. Only 2 interests I know of right now, and 1 of those.....I'm not too sure about him!

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

Well, I guess they are SOLD OUT!

A Round 3 MIGHT be possible, but again, like Round 2.....minimum 10 prepaid orders, before production would begin. If it looks like that would happen,I would start a STS Round 3 thread.

Feel free to PM me with interests for another batch.

Remove the plastic cover above the pedals. You will see the steering column and a few connectors. You're looking for the FLAT multi-wire connector on the right side of the column. This is what it looks like: http://www.partsamerica.com:80/produ..._sc28_full.jpg
The white wire on the very end of the connector is what you're looking for.

Then locate the brake switch, it is on the pedal assembly, higher up in the dash, kinda above the steering column. It has three wires: blue, yellow and orange.
The blue wire is the one you need.

Cut the blue wire and run it from the brake switch to the white wire in the steering column connector. That will make your AMBER (!) turn signals in the tail lights act as brake&turn integrated lights.

Do NOT drive the car like that, it's illegal and unsafe!

Now remove the tail lights and rewire them so that they flash the RED bulbs using the yellow wire (left brake light & turn signal) and dark green wire (right brake light & turn signal). Possibly install STS.
An alternative to rewiring the tail lights is to make their amber sections red. Then they will serve the purpose of brake & turn signals.

Lou

Steve and Lou, guess what, you might be looking at getting a ton of orders for these for the camaros...possibly, as I started this GB a month or so ago for the camaros.

KLEARZ

TGO Thread For Group Buy

If someone gets the all red or smoked red or any of the type and convert the amber bulb to red bulb then we could do this for the camaros....

I think I'll write up a tech article on how to make regular (understand: separate amber from red) tail lights work as integrated (GTA) tail lights. I'll take detailed pictures of wires and connectors and such. That always helps.

Thanks Lou! I'll add it to the basic set of instructions too, for any future builds.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

Ok, finally got around to getting pictures of the damage from shipping. For some reason I couldn't get very close without the image getting fuzzy, quite annoying really. Had to use flash for clearer images but they are a bit bright, sorry

Like I said, as long as they work I really don't care about the cosmetics of it all hehe! I appreciate the work you put into them and the effort to send them. Hope it's visible enough, i couldn't get any closer than this

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

Yeah, I'd say that one went through a machine, or got something HEAVY dropped on top of it. The padding woulda saved it from MOST occurences.

Lemme know how it works out. My concern would be the circuit board itself. The enclosure is certainly stronger than ythe board. That's why enclosures are there...to protect

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

No worries, that's by design.
Yes, that's the only way we can fit the boards in, by cutting off one corner of the box. Don't worry, it's perfectly fine.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

I think he was more referring to the split on the right side wall, about halfway up....I think.

But, as for that corner being cut off, yeah. That's the only way the green connector section would fit.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

If you notice, the lower level of connections is offset to the right, so it ran into to rounded corner, but the other, higher section, sat centered and further back, so it doesn't get near the rounded corner.

OK....

16. 72Vega
17, TheBigJ
18. Sinz86IrocBlk

Your units shipped today! I would expect Monday/Tuesday, based on reports of them getting to other people.

19 went to somebody local
20 is pending a M.O. from Smash Attack

If there is interest for further units, shoot me PMs, and when we hit 10 again, I'll ask for the money, just like we did this round.

$50 shipped, but we're out now. If there is enough interest, we might do another batch of, but haven't gotten any interest, really, to start making them again.

If anybody is interested, PM me, & I'll start another list of names. If we hit 10, we'll do another batch

Cool!

We have 4 that have already expressed (had 5, but 1 backed out) interest in us building more. We have NO PROBLEM doing that, but would 6 more interested people. Again, after a minimum of 10 express interest, I'll ask for payment from those 10, then build another batch of 20.

PM me, if anybody wants more!

I would have no problem doing International Shipping. I'd just hafta know your ZIP code and get a shipping quote first, before I could give you a final cost, with the shipping.

Does 1 unit work for both sides or just 1?

I will hopefully be able to pay this. I good on giving my word
1 unit does both sides. $50 shipped, in the 48 states.

I don't wanna take anybody's $ until we get to 10. In reality, I wait for 12 or 13 before I ask for the $, on the knowledge we'll get some that fall through. Had 2 drop out on Round 2.

You would make #7, if your in.

I've got you down as #8 (bigmacnz wanted 2, so he's #6 & # 7). firebird896 never actually said IN, so if he responds, that'll put him at #9. I go to 12 or 13, in case of one of the first 10 back out (last time, I had 2 back out).

And the different wiring issue of the Camaros has been worked out, and is no problem now! So all you Camaro guys...Do your amber to red conversions, then the STS wiring is no longer a problem!

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

Basically, ALL cars will need SOME rewiring done, to some extent. Either a wire or 2 snipped and connected to a different location, and /or 1156 sockets (single filament bulbs) changed out for 1157 sockets (dual filament bulbs).

Nothing is a big deal. 2-3 hours usually gets it all done, start to finish.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

If my car needs the 1157 bulb holders can you supply these at extra cost as that sort of thing is not available here?

Thanks

Not a problem. I can easily buy a pair of sockets & ship those with a STS unit for the extra cost. They are about $6/$7 each at stores.

Just tell me which tail lights you have (Firebirds have 4 different styles, that I know of) and I can do my best to make sure it all comes as a complete kit.

Have you tried your SYS system with LED bulbs?

No, but the STS system only changes delivery of the electrical impulses, and would be completely unaffected by the change in bulbs. Using LED bulbs would only depend on voltage requirement of the bulbs themselves, or the stock flasher relay/bulb out indicator itself, as would be typical for ANY LED bulb conversion.

I'd do the LED bulbs myself, but 6 bulbs isn't exactly cheap.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals...round 2

Thats great!!...LED it is!

EVERY bulb on/in the car will be LED when I am finished....the only ones
that are not LED right now are the rear tail lights and the head lights...
all I need are the 6 rear LED's and the HID conversion kit.......
