Cluster help
Cluster help
I have an 87 trans am, 305 4BBL carb, gauges, not digital, all original.
Does anyone know what the circuit board controls or what its function is in the dash cluster above the speedometer counter? Can't find any info on it.
Thanks John

Re: Cluster help
ts part of the speedometer, and you do need it if thats what you are asking.
I believe it converts the signal from the speed sensor to a signal that the speedo can read, the speed sensor sends pulses, the speedo needs a constant signal. I think this is right, dont hold me to it.
also controls the motor that runs the odometer

Re: Cluster help
Thanks for the info, I want to hook up a digital speedo but leave the factory one hooked up also for a back up. Just was wondering where to splice in. I saw #14 on the lower connector for the plug that goes to the cluster, but is the signal already coverted coming into the cluster or after the circuit board? Just don't want to splice in at the wrong spot. Does anyone know where to splice in at?
