Ok 2 days ago i put a new altinator on my car. Everything is swell till this morning i start it up to lett it warm up like normal cuz its really cold out side. I look at the gages and the voltage is almost touching the red line. Im not sure what could have caused this. So i started it up again and the same thing but this time it goes up and down real fast low and high. Not sure how to fix???

 

check the voltage at the bat. with the car runing. If it corisponds with the gauge in the dash and there both nutty, then the alt. regulator is defective.
