headlights

my lights on my bird don't work when in low beam. The passenger one is out. When you turn on the brights, both lights go on. When you go back to low beam, it does switch to low beams but the passenger one turns off. WTF? I did both headlight motors last year but didn't have problems till yesterday. What gives?

Re: headlights

replace headlight on the passenger side with the driver side to see if it's the bulb. Otherwise there is an issue with the socket that plugs into the headlight, or the wires going to the headlight from the driverside of the car.

Re: headlights

new silver stars work with brights on both sides. What about the sockets? What do I check? Is there anything else it could be?

Re: headlights

the sockets could be melted/corroded, otherwise it's the wiring between the high/low beam switch in the column and the actual headlight, or it's the high/low beam switch itself...check all wires and pray it's not the switch cause then you gotta tear the column apart to get to it. If you happen to have any friends with firebirds, you may want to see if they will let you test your headlight switch with thiers if theirs work, but i don't think it's that.
