they did a diagnostic labor for the cooling fan INOP. i have no clue wat that stands for.

Thereis no way of knowing for sure with those receipts.
You need to inspect the harness yourself for damage. Not too much work involved in that, just do a visual inspection from top and underneath.
Is the car not running?
battery still conn.?

Re: wiring harness problem

I have no idea for sure what those receipts mean other than someone obviously paid to have the car checked out.
Is your friend just giving this car to you?
If so,then yeah it would def. be worth getting from him.If you can't get it fixed just part it out. There plenty of folks looking for Iroc parts.

Re: wiring harness problem

Well,in that case I would def. get it.
Drag it home then just do a careful visual inspection of the complete engine bay wiring before removing it.If its melted somewhere it shouldn't be to hard to find.It may even be repairable without the expense of another harness

i was told not to splice n fix. they sed replace the whole thing. he forgot why it meltd but seems to me 2 wires were touching that werent supposed to and over circuited.

* Also if the harness is melted everyhting else should work in the car correct? like electronics and stuff?

you can splice/fix the harness if its only minimal damage like 2 wires.
If you're talking major stuff like near the pass. side where the harn. goes into the ecm, then no don't try splicing and fixing that, thats a whole bunch of wires and a few are the same color so it would be difficult to repair and $100 for another harness would be the way to go IMO.
And not everything may work in the car, depends on what was melted.
For example,if the wires to the starter were melted NOTHING in the car will work.
