i didnt put it in myself so i dont no whats up.everything was working fine for 246 miles now it works when it wants to.it still goes half way on the speedo then zero when you start it.i have the right signal coming from the tranny i dont no why it works sometimes and not all the time?ground wire?

 

Is this problem just showing up on cold morings? My electric autometer speedo is doing the samething, not working when I first start the car even though it does the half to zero dance.

I have been aiming to hook my laptop to the computer and verify that the transmission is sending the signal to the computer.


On a side note will your speedo lock up and not show any speed if the car is not running before the needle drops back to zero?

 

no it did it all summer long,i just spoke with autometer and they said if the needle moves every time you start it probably isnt the ground when i told them i bought the right sender they asked how i wired it up so i guess i will have to do some tracing of the wires and see if a wire is lose or something maybe my sender isnt in tightened all the way.
