Re: NEED HELP WITH FLIP UP HEADLIGHTS
Here's what I've got out of the '88 factory service manual. If wiring is correct, problem may lie in lighting module on firewall.

where exactly is the lighting module located?the reason i ask is that the car was converted to a carb and a lot of the factory stuff is not there anymore.thanks

Standing in front of car. Headlamp module is to the left of master cylinder mounted on the firewall. 4.5" square black box with 2 wire connecters plugged into it - has the word GUIDE embossed on it.

Re: NEED HELP WITH FLIP UP HEADLIGHTS
It turns on the headlight motors and shuts them off once is senses the spike in current from the headlight bucket hitting it's physical stop. If it doesn't sense the spike in current (due to bad bushings inside the gear within the motor) it will turn the motors off after 6 seconds. If you're wiring it back to original you'll need the module from a 1987-89. The one for a 1990+ is different because the wiring changed.

Most cars I've seen at the boneyard still have the module intact. If you don't have the module, that might be your best and cheapest option.

Re: NEED HELP WITH FLIP UP HEADLIGHTS
it could be the arm that moves the light. i have a problem with mine also. Only 1 headlight goes up and comes back down. When i took a look at it, the arm on the one that isnt working, is overextended. check and see if that could be it.
