Re: starter removel trouble

Piece of cake; they come right out.

Nose down. IIRC with the solenoid toward the front of the motor. Be careful it doesn't fall on your hand or anything, it might surprise you.

Re: starter removel trouble

I have a manutal transmission so I wouldn't know about the tranny cooling lines but once you remove the 2 starter bolts (and all wires), you can slide the starte a little bit fwd and it drops down easily.

Re: starter removel trouble

You may have to lift, push forward, turn, drop and end. Something like that in any order.
I have never had to do anything to get a starter out other then play with the starter.
I did sell my Sonoma to a friend who said he had to lift the engine and take the exhaust manifolds out to get the starter out.
All I have to say is he knew it was going before he bought it.

Re: starter removel trouble

Just try to remember, when the starter drops down, stop and take a real good look at how its oriented, because thats the only way its going back in.
