Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
I have a 1992 camaro and the turn signal stays solid when I put it on for both ways. I have no lights out and the hazard lights work. When I located the flasher for the hazard lights I figured the turn signal would be right underneath of it the white one with 3 prongs so I replaced it and it still does not work. I need this problem fixed and I don't know what else it could be.

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
Turn on your hazards and, by sound and touching the flasher, locate the one for the hazards. This will insure that you replaced the turn signal flasher.

I did I already took out the hazards one and it stopped blinking and the one below it I figured was the turn signal so I replaced that and it still does not work

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
i've had this issue for awhile now (close to a year) good luck on finding a solution... make sure you have all working bulbs in the car (trunk, side markers etc) ....i hvae that left to do, right now im seeing and pretty much believing it has something to do with my turn signal switch inside the column Moderator

A burned out bulb is the first thing to check when it's not flashing.

Is the stock flasher in a 92 camaro the white 3 pronged one?

Alright now I am just convinced I am an idiot and shouldn't be doing this kind of work. I think what I replaced was the horn relay which is directly underneath the hazard light flasher and I think I found the turn signal flasher which is mounted on the side of the fuse box.

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
I have a similar problem.
ALL my bulbs function properly, all turn signals flash etc, but ONE of them will stay OFF when the headlights are on, yet it still flashes when I signal without a problem....
I can only assume it must be the "switch" wire for the running lights that is not turning it on....grrrr
anyone know which wire that is so I can test it?

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
The flasher is a thermo sensitive device and requires current to function correctly, a bad contact, bad ground or burnt out bulb will reduce current in this circuit. A slow blick usually is a bad bulb, no blink or constant light is usually a bad connection or bad ground....a fast or rapid blink usually means over current some where, maybe a short or cross wires.. typical with tow bar wiring.

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
Thanks.
Mine is confusing though because it will blink perfectly normally, it just won't some on as a running light at all (but still blinks fine when the other running light is on)
...I tried to twist the bulbs out the other day and they won't move.
I assume they are just "normal" bulbs you twist and pull to get out?
(so I should just pull harder?....could be a sign or corrosion itself...)

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
i already asked this question and got answers. bad connection.(s) clean out bulb sockets, also metal tab connections in socket tarnish, after awhile will cause bad connection. the connector tab in socket is copper, copper tarnishes. clean it add new current grease, even scratch it if need be.

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
Will do, thanks Willie.
As for the bulbs seeming to be stuck, I should just pull/twist harder?
(I also assume they turn counter-clockwise to come out like any other bulb?)

PS-my hazards work fine, so its not a problem with the bulbs or the lights themselves.

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
Is this really the case? My turn signals usually don't work (but every once in a while decide to come on) and I've replaced the hazard flasher and what Robster66 is saying is the horn relay, both have been called a "turn signal relay" by the auto parts store. Where is the relay/flasher for the turn signals?

I think u'll be pleasantly surprised....always try the cheapest (or even free) stuff first, it is often the dumbest thing that makes car parts not work right! LOL

Re: Turn Signal stays solid - Flasher?
I hope your right, judging from this thread and many like it, this seems to be a somewhat common, yet extremely irritating problem. I'm just glad some of you have already been through it, it might save me several hours of frustration and loud profanity
