Tach reading approx 4x higher than actual at idle.
My Tachometer is reading 3500 rpm at idle. I'm assuming my car is idling at 800rpm. This hasn't been a huge issue, just annoying. Now I need to test my IAC, and the procedures I'm reading call for an operational tach, and it'd be really nice if my tach worked anyway. I'd like to be able to replace the resistors in it and get it to work.
The car is an original V8. 88' IROC-Z28 Camaro. It's been stroked to 383, but still on all the stock ignition systems. I'm going to be trying to sell the car in the near future, so I was to get it in tip-top shape for it's next owner. I'd really appreciate ANY and ALL help you guys can give me.
Anyone know where I can start with the resistors, and go up/down until I get it to 800rpm at idle which I'm assuming it's idling at?
THANKS!
Justin
