How to run engine

I have a 1986 ta orginaily 305 4bbl. When I bought the car it had a blown out 350 in it. i want to swap in my 333, but since the guy who put in the 350 just cut wires, would I be beeter off trying to fix the wiring or just running it muscle car style with just what i need and get rid of all the warning lights etc...

If it was me i would go with the old school way and just use what ya need. pick up some mechanical gauges for your oil, temp, and volts and get it going. its easier and then you could clean out some of the wires that you dont use and clean up the engine bay a bit
