V6 tach in a V8
V6 tach in a V8
I need a new tach for my IROC as the one I have now reads waaaay too high. I found a guy selling V6 tach's on ebay claiming that they can be converted to work in a V8. Has anyone ever heard of this or know how/if it can be done?

Re: V6 tach in a V8
I bought a tach converter because I HAD to convert the RPM signal....... Yes - they do exist.
Don't bother buying a V6 tach..... You can EASILY find a functional V8 tach for less than a 1/4 the cost of a Digital Dakota converter. Besides - by putting a V6 cluster in a V8 you are increasing the RPM range in appearance only. The V6 Yellow line is at 5500 RPM - Your stock V8 Hits yellow line at 4500 RPM !
Better to use the right parts !!!!
