Speedo Gremlin...
So here's the scoup:
I replaced the Headlamp switch with a new one, & I also replaced the Wacky-tach with a new old stock one. Enerything works fine until I turn the headlights on. After a few minutes all of the gauges except the speedo freak out & peg all the way up or down. Also- the right turn signal indicator illuminates. If I twist the dimmer I can get partial recovery, but nothing works right until after I turn the headlamp switch off. Then everything works again.
WTF?

Re: Speedo Gremlin...
If all functioned correctly before the switch install, then reason would suggest that's the place to start.

Re: Speedo Gremlin...
This problem is the reason I replaced the headlamp switch in the first place. I thought it was a problem with the dimmer reastat(sp?) because when the dash would crash I could get partial recovery by twisting the dimmer. If I turn the dimmer all the way down I get almost total recovery. When I turn the headlamp switch completely off the cluster recovers completely.
Since replacing the headlamp switch the only improvement is smoother dimming. The pre-existing problem with the dash is the same as before.
Here's one thing for thought: The brighter the dimmer setting, the more out-of-whack the gauges are???
