wires, i got issues.. ( pics)
1. 1st pic. I believe that this is the temperature gauge wire from some of the stuff i read in the old threads. If this is so, were does it connect to? If not could someone please tell me what it is and were it plugs into.
2nd pic. I had a code 36, the code cleared when i disconnected the battery, but if the problem still persists do i have to swap out the MAF burn off relay? Could someone please tell me which relay is which near the break booster.
3d pic. My oil pressure gauge reads zero at all times. the only time it moves a bump is when i rev it to about 2500 RPM. Is this the oil pressure sending unit? I believe it is for it's not by the oil filter, but i could always be wrong.
If someone could answer my questions it would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a thread that will provide you with a lot of useful information, including wiring schematics. http://www.chevythunder.com
The oil pressure sending unit is located above the oil filter, at least it is on my third gens.

The Temp gauge sensor is on the driver side of the block under the exhaust manifold. I dont know if thats what the green wire goes to or not. I Changed my wire 10 years ago with a yellow wire and cheap connector. I cant remember what it used to look like. But it does look familiar and I know I dont have that one any more, so that might be it.

then soimeone plugged in the wrong temp sensor....common mistake as azone and advance/parts america lists both types for all years. Just go to the parts store and by a coolant temperature sender. They are like 10 bucks. You want the one with the single blade type connector and that lil green wire will plug right in.
Also, your oil pressure sender should be on the back of the engine under the distributor, kinda looks like your pic may be right. Also, it may not be the sender, it may be the guage.

My car has a button style sensor wit the same plug. The plug doesn't just plug in, it kinda slides horizontally onto it kinda like the button slides through the groove in the plug. The car has original equipment in this sense.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.. i will try to slide the plug over the button
.. idk this car is just given me all sorts a grief, now it says i got a code 44
, too many problems for one day
----------
I think you might be right.. i unplugged the sending unit while the car was running then it shot up past 60.. plugged it back in.. still at zero. Then i went back out to give it another shot (plugged in) zero.. un plugged stayed a zero, it might be the gauge.

Ok well you can get a gauge out of any 82-89 that has the oil press gauge, make sure you get the 60 psi face. Just pull the trim plate, lens and bezel off the cluster, remove the retaining screws for the tach and unplug the tach from the cluster. the oil press attaches to the back of the tach. No need to pull the whole cluster.

if you can find a gauge at the JY or u pull it pretty easy, its worth a try. new sender is like $20. hmm I bet if you search around the boards enough you'll find out how to test the sender. I think it works on resistance or a measured voltage and you could use a multimeter to read it.
