FOG LIGHT WIRING

Hi, I have a 1992 Formula Firebird, it DID NOT COME WITH FOG LIGHTS.

I have a set of STOCK LIGHT'S from a 1992 Trans Am GTA that also came with the SWITCH PANEL FOR INSIDE THE CAR.

The wire connector was already THERE in the stock location to connect to the switch panel, the FOG LIGHTS also have the wires/clips connected to them...

CAN ANYONE HERE HELP ME FIGURE OUT what WIRES TO CONNECT from the rear of the fog lights SO THAT THEY WORK AS STOCK with the FOG LIGHT SWITCH INSIDE THE CAR? The lights themself have the wires haning off the back BUT IM NOT SURE WHICH SET OF WIRES TO SPLICE THEM INTO so they work with the switch inside the car..

Your assistance is appreciated.

Ben

Re: FOG LIGHT WIRING

If it's like my 1992 Camaro, although there may be wiring in the dash for the switch, there may not be wiring under the hood for the lights.

I used the switch wiring, and an OEM switch - but I spliced into the wires under the dash, and ran my own set of wiring out to the hood, where I installed a relay, and wired the lights directly off the fusible link connector (beside the battery) via the relay. This way, I could use the stock switch, utilize a small current to the relay, and keep the high voltage safely under the hood. I believe I had to wire the switch into the fuse block inside to get power through the switch to activate the relay (and have power to activate the light in the switch itself), and power up the lights from the fusible link connector. Make sense?

Re: FOG LIGHT WIRING

Hello and thanks for the reply. Did you by chance have a wiring diagram?

I suspect my car is pretty much the same, since it's a 1992 Firebird Formula and like you said, the wiring harness for the fog lights were right behind the ac vent, so I bought a new panel that included a fog light switch from a 92 GTA (mine only had the rear defrost/trunk release)

What you said sounds about right but I must admit, im not that great at wiring, so it would seem my best bet now would be a wiring diagram of the car.

If you by chance have any more details could you forward them to me via EMAIL?
