better reverse light bulbs???
I can't see sh*t out the back window when I back up in the dark
-I seriously have to check visually before I get in the car and then reverse by memory!!-
of course my tint doesn't help!
anyway, my reverse lights all work properly, just curious if anyone has upgraded their bulbs for a higher out put? Or even an LED plug in?
(I do not want to replace the whole assembly)
Or at the very least does anyone have the size and rating specs for the stock bulbs so I know what I am dealing with?
Thanks.

Re: better reverse light bulbs???
Backup lamps are usually 21W non-halogen with the Ba15s socket.
Using real halogen bulbs would yield 40-50% better light output for the same wattage, but I even found 36W halogens when I Googled Ba15s halogen.
I found those on the first hit, a British site named vintagemotorspares.com
Quite costly I guess but could be worth it. I'm sure they can be found elsewhere also.

Re: better reverse light bulbs???
I just found some 28.5w non halogens here for 99c each
http://www.bulbs.com/Category-/resul...lpartial&Nty=1
not halogens but wattage alone is almost 30% increase, plus being new versus my old ones I am sure that should be enough or me to see SOMETHING when I back up

Re: better reverse light bulbs???
i got 50 watt old school driving light bulbs, the have the same base as your stadard back up light, they are cheaper than hallys, but hallys are nice also, the plug~n~play LEDs are normaly not bright enough, if you do a custom set up, LEDs would work great, like a 40 LED set up, but it involves time and work, Cdoyle (i think that his s/n) has a cool custom LED tail light set up he made, they look sharp
but back to the simple fix i would get hally back ups, or the 50 watt old school driving light bulbs, they are at any autoparts store
BTW under $20 total, i think my bulbs were $4 per bulb and the hallys are like $8 or so per bulb

Re: better reverse light bulbs???
thanks for the input, I just ordered some 28w ones already (I am impatient LOL)...but if they are not bright enough I'll def get the halogens.
as for my tint I didn't know the actual % until I just looked it up cos u asked...
I asked for the darkest legal tint allowed in FL when it was installed...
...I just looked it up and IF they did what I said my tint is 15% back and sides...so if u have 5% you might wanna mount some fogs on the back to see when you reverse LOL
