Help! VATS bypass didn't work

Two weeks ago my 91 RS wouldn't start. Based on various posts on here, I figured out it was the VATS. I rigged a bypass using resistors as in the Tech Article. It worked instantly, but a week later the car began refusing to start again. Same as before. No noise, nothing. When I turn the key the Security light comes on for a few seconds then goes out. I turn the key to OFF, then back to start and the light comes on again for a few secs, then goes out.

I pulled my resistor pack out and measured the resistance. It was slightly higher than when I put it in (outside air temps have risen?), so I made a new resistor pack and got the exact value of my key (5.82 kohms). I put it in and still nothing.

I am at a loss as too what to do now. I can't even start the car to give up and take it to a shop.

And even worse I'm heading to Panama City soon and I've been looking forward to cruising the strip in my vert. Anybody got ideas to get me back on the road?

If the security light does not stay on, your VATS isn't the problem then.
What do you mean by "no noice, nothing"? Could you elaborate on that? It could easily be anything else, like the starter or ignition cylinder.
