Re: has any body done this?

yes, I am in the process of re-wiring my IROC, and this is what I have to say on this subject...

either have it professionally done (by a place that specializes in harness making/auto wiring and such, not just the garage down the street)
which can and will run into some big bucks.

Or you can spend a good deal of time and a buttload of patience in order to make it right the first time you do it because you don't want to have to go back and chase down a loose connection all because of a bad crimp or bad soldering job.

It is a big job rewiring a vehicle, mine is fuel injected, seems like there are a ton of sensors and plugs, so take notes and draw diagrams if needed, learn to make solid crimps and solder joints.
And make the new crimps and joints water tight, put some shrink tubes over them so water can not get into them a start the oxidizing and corroding process.
And make sure the wiring is secured from anything that might melt it.

There is of course so much more I could go into about this, but what I have said here gives you an idea.

Sorry if it seems I am just rambling on and on and this reply looks like it was written by a circus monkey, but I just worked almost 80 hrs this week and I am pretty much wiped out.

Just my

Mike.

PS
I might edit this tomorrow after I get some needed rest.
