Module mounted under hood latch
Anyone know what this is? I'm going to remove the brace, and I'm not sure if I need this thing or not.

If it's in a 90-92, it looks like the front sensor for the airbag system. don't touch it if you don't want the airbag system breaking/airbag going off.

My car never had airbags though......its a 91.

Correct, this is definitely the front airbag sensor. Don't worry, it won't deploy the airbag accidentaly. The system is pretty safe.
Did your car never have airbags or did somebody maybe replace the steering wheel in the past? I've seen people do it a lot. You can check your RPO codes.

When I got it, it had a factory camaro steering wheel on it. I don't think it ever had one, but I'll look at the codes.

All 90-92 camaros had a driver's side airbag. the wheel was replaced.

Weird. Never would've guessed. Thats the first though that came to my head though. Surely this car never had airbags, I said. So guess I'm ripping it out.
Oh, the car was in an accident before I bought it in Germany from a German. He probably set it off, and just put a cheaper wheel on it....
