Stalling, squealing belts, low voltage, etc...
Alright where to begin. First off, my '87 350 tpi is hard to start. Whether its cold, warm, whatever... in order to start it I have to hold the throttle in about 1/4 of the way. Now most of the time it will run good, but every so often I hear the belt that goes around the power steering pulley start squealing (its this belt because its the only one I have), usually when stopped at a light. And when this happens my voltage drops from 13 to around 8 and my RPMs bounce around, my brakes cut in and out. When its raining out it squeals almost constantly and will stall when idling. Only time the squealing stops is when I get going about 20-30 mph. Everything else electronic seems to work fine all the time - lights all around, dash, windows, radio, all of it. Actually with my stereo, if I turn it up too high the speakers start crackling and if I go a bit higher than that, it will just shut off. And I'm not talking like turning it up unbelievably loud either, it will shut off before hitting about 50% volume. Just need to solve why it doesn't like to idle. All suggestions appreciated.
