Re: pwr window switch on fire

I thought i needed a new motor for my window to but I found the wires coming from the switch fell out of the little clip holding them in position. My emergency brake was pinching the wire and almost cut it. It would short and start to smoke to. replaced switch and fixed wire then all was OK. Maybe just check in there. Or maybe you were just zippin the window up/down too much and the continuous load was just to much. I don't know if that helps any but good luck none the less.
I'd unhook the battery at night just to be safe cuz if the switch melted it could keep flowing current and burn the car down.
