Defroster Switch Trick?
So i got another third gen a couple weeks ago and noticed that the defroster switch doesn't work. it clicks but the little light on the switch doesn't come on. i have checked all the fuses under the dash and none are blown so i was thinking maybe just the defroster switch is broke? Also my ciggerete lighter doesn't work either no fuses blown... any ideas?
not really a big deal just trying to keep/restore everything to working order in my car

Re: Defroster Switch Trick?
Check and listen for the relay when you push the button. When you have a connection to the defroster you should hear a little "doink" and when you turn it off it should go "click". (its advantageous to turn off everything else and do not start your engine but have the key in the "Run" Position.) Since you said you hear the Click I am not sure if you hear the click of the switch or the solinoid...
If you cannot hear the noises then you may have a bad solinoid, OR a broken wire going to the solinoid or broken wire going to the rear hatch glass. I would also check the ground wire on the Passenger side (IIRC) Check the resistance across the window grid to see if your grid is not completely gone.
Of course there is the chance that the little light is burned out.
