Re: horn blowing w/o touching horn button

sometimes the horn button becomes loose and shorts out, take off button and check to see that the terminal is tight or that nothing metal is touching the terminal or the base plate. I had a problem one time with mine the base plate came detached from the button, every movement sounded the horn.

sounds familar, sometimes they just become loose, take off the horn button and check to see if your terminal is tight, also make sure that the terminal isn't touching anything metal and that the base plate is tight, if the terminal or base plate is loose it will honk everytime it comes in contact with the metal.

Re: horn blowing w/o touching horn button

When my turn signal switch broke inside the column there was a piece of metal that contacted the horn terminals every time I turned the steering wheel. So basically my horn would go off everytime I made a turn.Man was that fun...lol

Re: horn blowing w/o touching horn button

had that happen to me . remove horn pad , check all contacts . on mine the cheezy plastic weld had flaked away . the horn would blow when you pressed hard on the upper wheel . i thought that was normal , untill one morning at 3 am the horn went off by itself . good thing i live in the country , not too many neighbors heard it . check it out . good luck .
