wiring relay for upgraded headlights
so i put h4 5000k lights in..low beams work fine but the high beams start to flicker after about 10seconds of use.
how do i wire a relay in to fix this...where can i find a relay to use?
thanx!
edit: my sig....i switched the wires so the middle lights are lows (much wider dispersion) and all 4 come on as highs...doesnt change the problem

My other car is a Caliber, and I've heard people had the same problem. For mine, there's some sort of heatsink looking thing between the boxes and the light. Try contacting the manufacturer and see if others have had the problem.
If that doesn't work, give send a message to this site and try and direct it to xflashjr somewhere in the message:

He was very helpful on the Caliber boards, I'm sure he can help out. Can mention Fyrstorm sent you if you like, I don't get a deal out of it but it may help identify how you got a hold of him hehe!

This site has lots of great info on the bosch relay and some applications. Relays can be found at Radio Shack.

Select this page to wire a pair of relays into your headlights
http://www.classictruckshop.com/club...ead/lights.htm
The relay terminals aren't labeled, so I'll do best I can...
Pin 85 - to dimmer switch, or in wire harness to lights (tan wire = low, green wire = high)
Pin 86 - to ground.
Pin 87 - to light, pin 87A is not used
Pin 30 - to battery, also install a 30 amp fuse on this wire
Use one relay for each set of lights, you can use the same battery wire and fuse to terminal 30 of each relay.
This will enable you to use your dimmer switch to control the relays, which will in turn route battery 12V to your lights.

Re: wiring relay for upgraded headlights
Are you sure not having a relay is the problem? H4 bulbs have a different "pin-out" than regular sealed beams.
